Day 1 in Russia - Arrival

Hi there! It's me again!

And it's about RUSSIA again!

After the overall introduction of my 8-day Russian trip, now it comes to the details!

First, let me remind me what my first day looks like:

Day 1: Arrived and check-in at Hotel: Mama Ro Apartments at Chistye Ponds

So basically, our day one was all about the flight and checking into the hotel.
Nothing much.
But well, we can talk about the flight and visa?

First thing, visa!
Well, we are super lucky, by holding a valid Hong Kong Passport, it is not necessary for us to apply an additional visa to Russian within 14 days!
(Even Mainland Chinese has to apply one if they are not going in as a group of five or more!)
This saves so much time and MONEY (it's like 900 hkd!)

Next, about the flight...
I have always heard bad things about RUSSIAN Airlines, but our experience this time proved it wrong!
RUSSIAN Airlines is indeed amazing!

Long list of reason why you should take Russian Airline:
1. The flight is super on time
2. The fleet is spacious
 3.The seat is comfy
4.The food is GREAT (especially from the HK side?)
5.The movies are up-to-date and many options available!
6. Flight attendants are super nice and helpful (but well don't expect too much on the look)

-This marks the beginning of our 8-day trip in Russia-

I don't even remember it was a morning flight to be honest...

but well that means likely I was not sleeping much, but watching movies marathon instead.

One thing I remember clearly was that the immigration part was SLOW.

It was a LONG WAIT in the line to get through customs. 

But well, other than that, everything was smooth and perfect!

We found our hotel pick-up upon arrival. 

We pre-ordered the transfer from hotel and it was very ON TIME and CONVENIENT.

Not to mention that our van was HUGE and SUPER COMFY!

And I would definitely recommend you to do so since local people really do not speak much English and better ordered from the hotel so to make sure they know where you are heading to. 

It was a door-to-door service that we ordered and so finally we arrived at the hotel after the 9-hour flight plus 1-hr drive from the airport! This is the compound of our hotel. 

This is the staircase to the entrance of the hotel! ( You do need to take your luggage upwards by yourself! But trust me, it's just one floor of easy-to-go-up staircase! You could easily handle that!)

We did not pick a traditional branded hotel, but a very CHIC and HIGH-TECH apartment style of hotel! It was super cool (well...my mom and dad did not agree since they are the pro-traditional hotel type of person...)! If you love to try NEW CONCEPTS, I can guarantee you would LOVE this place! (Will do a separate introduction to our hotel later just in case if you are interested!)

The alley to the rooms! I just love how artistic the whole place is! 

So, after we dropped our bags, we went out to the neighborhood to have a quick look! And it was a peaceful neighborhood with a lot to offer! 5 mins to the metro station, 5 mins to a supermarket! And many restaurants around! Howconvenient!

Well after getting what we needed - fruits, breakfast, snacks, drinks (THEY DO HAVE LOTS OF VODKA ON THE SHELVES) from the supermarket, we went back to the hotel and had a nice long sleep!

This is basically how our first day went.
