[Hong Kong. Travel] A Date with nature, Nam Sang Wai

One of greatest thing being an exchange ambassador is that I got to go to somewhere that I haven't been in Hong Kong even though I am born and raised here.
And Yuen Long is definitely one of the very few places I am very unfamiliar with.
I think I had been to Yuen Long like twice or so, but I am very sure it was my first time to Nam Sang Wai.
I thought Nam Sang Wai was remotely far from downtown, and yes, it was kind of far, but still it was reachable.

Going to Yuen Loong itself wasn't that difficult, it was like 25 mins from Hung Hom, but it costed like $20 regular MTR price from Hung Hom, so I would say it was not cheap to go.
Going to Nam Sang Wai, we got to take exit A in the MTR station, then it was pretty much a straight way there.
But still, better use GOOGLE MAP to locate the exact location, it would make things definitely easier.
It would take like another 35 minutes to reach to Nam Sang Wai.
Once you could see the sign, "<-- NAM SANG WAI", that means you were on the right track!

After you passed through the SIGN, you would got to the bridge link, where you got only one way to go on, which is to pay for the short boat ride across the river.

It was the only way to go to the opposite side of the river unless you go from the other side of the entrance or swim across it hahaaa

So basically we got no choice but paid $6 and went on the tiny little boat.
But it was certainly a good experience for both me and the exchange students!

This was where you would land after the short boat ride.

Once you crossed the river, you would got to walk along the grasses and passed through a few abandoned houses.

Walked and walked and walked, you would got to see this STUNNING NATURE.
And you have to be aware that you might got so itchy while walking through the grasses.
Another point was that it would be better if you wear sport shoes since the pathway was actually quite muddy and wet in this summer season.
I was totally unprepared and my sandals simply got more and more dirty afterwards:(

Be prepared to walk a long way out!

It was worth the walk when you got to this lovely bridge!
Everyone was just excited about it!

You could see your own reflection when looked down!

Walked for another 15 minutes, you would reach the huge pitch where you could do picnic!
People was like playing with the electrical helicopters!

Even under a not so fine weather, Nam Sang Wai is still very beautiful.
It was a bit unlucky that we could see the prettiest side of it since the sun was hiding away from us that day.
It also wasn't that huge which we spent like only around one and a half hours on site.
Yet, as we took another way back, we spent like another two hours walking back to downtown Yuen Long.
It was a really long walk for me and it really was tiring walking all the way back.
So, if you weren't a fan of walking and exercising, I would say it would be better if you either cycle or take the original way back.
We were all exhausted and were starving when we finally got back to downtown Yuen Long, what we did was finding a decent place for lunch and had a icy cold drink hahaha!
The lunch pretty much summed up our date with nature!
